With just over five months to go until the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the RYA Scotland inspired Commonwealth Flotilla event is gaining momentum.

The Flotilla is open to just 250 boats which will sail from James Watt Dock in Greenock to Glasgow.  These boats, which will gather together, will sail with one mission, as the largest flotilla in the Clyde’s history.

This is the culmination of both individual journeys, and several Homecoming musters and the fleet take with them many tales of exploration and adventure.  But as they travel together, as one, it really will be an incredible sight to see.

Although only currently open to boats which can sail under power, the organisers are looking at ways in which other types of boat can get involved in what promises to be one of the highlights of the Games.
