This weekend, 10 and 11 May, will celebrate the 25th birthday of Savills Kip Regatta.  And with a high quality field already confirmed it looks like

ve got a great two days of sailing ahead. we


Not only do we have some of the best known names in Scottish sailing signed up but we can also look forward to seeing Scotland’s Commodore’s Cup team in action.  All members of the squad will be on the water at Kip with Jamie McGarry and Colin Moore with Eala of Rhu, Rod Stuart and Bill Ram with Aurora and Steve Cowie with Zephyr.


But don’t discount the rest of the pack as they will be pushed hard by Jonathan Anderson and Murray Finlay in Roxstar and John Stamp with Jacob VI.


And, if, as we expect, the classes are split look out for Sloop John T sailed by Iain and Graham Thomson from Arran; Neill Sandford and Now or Never 3 and  Alan Jeffrey and Paul Scutt with Carmen II.  This year we also have a new Animal under Kevin Aitken, it will be interesting to see this new boat, with a very familiar name, will handle her first challenge of the year.  Also look out for Craig Latimer and Wildebeest IV.


It’s a great chance to see the Ovington Boats VXI fleet as well as Hunter Sonatas and Sigma 33’s, so if you can get to Kip this weekend you’ll be rewarded with some of the biggest names, best boats and a promise of excellent racing.  What a way to celebrate you’re silver jubilee!
