V__3745With just over three weeks until the 41st Silvers Marine Scottish Series, the regatta is shaping up to be one of the most hotly contested in recent years.  Entries are already up 20 percent on last year and with sponsorship agreements currently being finalised, this is an exciting time for Scottish sailing.

Sponsors this year include The Botanist Islay Dry Gin, who supported the Series last year, and they’re making it a family affair in 2015 by bringing sister company Bruichladdich along.  This renowned single malt whisky will be a very welcome addition to the regatta.  Another new name to the Scottish Series sponsor list is Crewsaver, taking the position of safety partner and product sponsor.  Their new set of inflatable marker buoys will be launched at this year’s event.  However, Crewsaver is no stranger to the waters of Loch Fyne as the Scottish Series management team has been using their marks for years.  And the marker buoys are not the only things to be inflated, as to date, entries across all classes are up 20 percent on last year.

Silvers Marine Scottish Series Chairman Dane Ralston expressed his excitement as the start of this year’s regatta gets closer saying:  “Scottish Series has a special place in the hearts of everybody involved with Scottish sailing.  It has been Scotland’s premier regatta for all its four decade history and I’m delighted with how this year’s event is shaping up.

“We have some very exciting news coming up in the next few days, but I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the crews who have already signed up for this year’s event.  I can promise them some of the best racing on offer in the country and, off the water, our Saturday night party night is going to be one to remember!”

Silvers Marine Scottish Series takes place in Tarbert, Loch Fyne between 22 – 25 May 2015.
