EverythingThe Argyll and the Isles Marine Tourism group was officially launched today (Thursday 19 November) as the first of four regional groups covering the whole of Scotland, which come under the Sailing Scotland banner.

The group is now looking to build on Sailing Scotland’s current 1,700 member database, and is actively calling from anyone in the marine tourism industry, whether on land or sea, to get themselves listed.

Whether you’re running a sailing school, operating a marina or have a coastal coffee shop, if you welcome marine tourists into your Argyll and the Isles based business then the Argyll and the Isles Marine Tourism group wants to hear from you.

As Sailing Scotland founder Iain Hurrel says:  “We want everyone to know that our sailing waters are amongst the best in the world.  But we’ve taken it one step further, and rather than talk about it we’ve proactively set up groups to be able to discuss, at a regional level, the challenges and opportunities open to them.

“We’ve also created interactive tools, and made them open source, so businesses can show their marine tourists where to go, or what to do in an area.  These tools bolt on to your existing website which means your visitors won’t be navigated away from your information.

“Some people might say this is innovative, but for us, we see this as the logical next stop to make sure the sailing industry in Scotland is digitally connected.”
