Silvers Marine Scottish Series hotting up to be a scorcher

With just over three weeks until the 41st Silvers Marine Scottish Series, the regatta is shaping up to be one of the most hotly contested in recent years.  Entries are already up 20 percent on last year and with sponsorship agreements currently being finalised, this is an exciting time for Scottish sailing.   Sponsors this year include The Botanist Islay Dry Gin, who supported the Series last year, and they’re making it a family affair in 2015 by bringing sister company Bruichladdich along.  This renowned single malt whisky will be a very welcome addition to the regatta.  Another new name to the Scottish Series sponsor list is Crewsaver, taking the position of safety partner and product sponsor.  Their new set … Read more

Scottish Series bouyed up with Crewsaver support

Silvers Marine Scottish Series is delighted to announce a new partnership with Crewsaver for this year’s event. Crewsaver is the the safety partner and product sponsor for next month’s series, which runs between 22 – 25 May.  It will also provide a brand new set of of inflatable marker buoys to be used during the event and afterwards for use at Clyde Cruising Club. Icebreaker kicks off the Clyde racing season

Run as a short course, sprint format the Icebreaker is Scotland`s only keelboat training regatta and supported by RYA Scotland with the Scottish Sailing Institute championship mark laying team and on water coaching from international coach Barry Dunning and sailmakers from the North and Saturn lofts.   Held in crisp, clear sunshine the open waters off Ardrossan with Arrans mountains as a backdrop give a stunning racetrack.
